VOTE - Your Way of Life Depends on It!

“The election is not a referendum -- it’s a choice.”

    - President Joe Biden, October 21, 2022

In 2020, WE made a choice -- to elect President Biden, to keep the U.S. House in Democratic control, and to add enough Democratic Senators to tie the U.S. Senate -- giving Democrats control.

Those were really good choices to move this country forward.  Now in 2022, we are asked again to make choices in these mid-term elections.

This article shows us the stark contrast between our choice FOR electing Democratic candidates versus Republicans.

“Fear is contagious, but so is hope."

This motto of Congressman Joe Neguse is so appropriate.  To all of us who have been around Joe, hope and positivity are key words to describe who he is. Joe has been Colorado’s Congressional District 2 Representative in the U.S. House since 2018, and he has been working for us from that first moment. OUR COLORADO LEGISLATURE - IMPORTANCE TO OUR VOTERS

OUR COLORADO LEGISLATURE - IMPORTANCE TO OUR VOTERS

Sep 21, 2022

Our Colorado legislature performs many functions -- but two of the most important tasks impacting all of us voters are:

- Making our laws
- Approving the State budget for managing our resources

Colorado has 65 House Districts and 35 Senate Districts.  ALL Colorado legislation depends on which party holds the majority in each chamber.  To continue progressive legislation going forward, we MUST keep the Colorado House and Senate in Democratic control.

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, Democrat, Supports Women’s Reproductive Rights

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, Democrat, Supports Women’s Reproductive Rights

Aug 21, 2022

Our current Attorney General, Phil Weiser, is running for re-election on our 2022 Colorado Democratic ticket. He is a strong supporter of women’s reproductive rights -- especially important after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade in its Dobbs decision.

Referring to his work at the U.S. Supreme Court in the mid-1990’s, AG Weiser has stated:

“I was trained by Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the concept of equal protection of the laws and reproductive health care … is something that is deeply in my commitment.”

In contrast, his Republican opponent in the 2022 Attorney General’s race feels that the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs (overturning Roe v Wade) was rightly decided.

A recent opinion published in the Colorado Sun (July 29), asks very important questions that voters need to know about the positions of our 2022 Attorney General candidates.

Rep. Joe Neguse - Wildfire Response & Drought Resiliency Act - July 29

Rep. Joe Neguse - Wildfire Response & Drought Resiliency Act - July 29

Aug 20, 2022

With wildfires and drought becoming increasingly existential problems for Colorado and neighboring states, the House took action at the end of July, passing a package of nearly 50 bills that Rep. Joe Neguse says “meets the moment for the West.”

Neguse is a lead sponsor on the package, known as the Wildfire Response and Drought Resiliency Act, as well as the author of some of its specific provisions. It passed the House on a nearly party-line vote of 218-199.

We need to apply a ‘whole of government’ approach to recovery — creating and funding several programs that support community rebuilding and bolster environmental resiliency,” said Neguse at a press conference ahead of the vote. He said the provisions in the bill would do that, as well as make improvements to working conditions for federal wildland firefighters.
