Re-Elect Joe Neguse to the U.S. House - A Proven Leader Who Deserves Your Vote!

Re-Elect Joe Neguse to the U.S. House - A Proven Leader Who Deserves Your Vote!

“Fear is contagious, but so is hope." - Congressman Joe Neguse

To all of us who have been around Joe Neguse, hope and positivity are key words to describe who he is.

Joe has been Colorado’s Congressional District 2 Representative in the U.S. House since 2018. Immediately after his first election and ever since, Joe has been actively involved with his constituents -- visiting Estes Valley many times -- and has proven himself to be a true leader who works tirelessly for our District in Congress.

Joe has been recognized by the Center for Effective Lawmaking as the most effective Colorado lawmaker in the U.S. House and as one of the Top 10 most effective Democratic members of the U.S. Congress.

Joe serves on House Leadership as Co-Chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee. Examples of the House Committees he works on are the Natural Resources Committee and the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis.

He is Chair of the National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands Subcommittee, and serves as Vice-Chair of other Committees and Caucuses. Joe is also on the very important House Judiciary Committee.

In addition to working on House passage of all the important 2021 and 2022 Democratic legislation such as infrastructure and the Inflation Reduction Act described in Spotlight, Joe has been instrumental in protecting and preserving our public lands and responding to climate change impacts on our resources and affecting our wildfire risks.

In this regard, Joe is the lead sponsor on the Wildfire Response and Drought Resiliency Act -- which is a package of nearly 50 legislative bills that Joe describes as meeting “the moment for the West”. (See our Spotlight article at this link.) Through Joe’s efforts, this legislation has passed the House and according to Joe:

“. . . [applies] a ‘whole of government’ approach to [wildfire] recovery -- creating and funding several programs that support community rebuilding and bolster environmental resiliency.”

Such legislation addresses funding needed for the Colorado River reservoir crises, forest health actions, and wildfire mitigation, including improvements in firefighter support and compensation.

In addition to his significant accomplishments involving environmental and climate change issues, Joe also has been active in issues such as immigration, healthcare, and gun violence prevention, among others.

To keep our Democratic majority in the U.S. House, it is essential that we re-elect Joe Neguse to be our Congressional District 2 Congressman. He has been active on our behalf, and to all of us who have met Joe personally, he is truly an outstanding person to represent us in the U.S. Congress.
